Little Hands Math Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 10, 2026
Last updated: July 15, 2026
Applies to: the Little Hands Math Android app (com.littlehands.math)
Little Hands Math is a handwriting math practice app for children in Grades 1–6. Because it is built for young children, we keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the app, and we never use a child's information for advertising or profiling. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what the app collects, what never leaves the device, and how you can delete everything.
The short version: You can use the whole app without an account and without giving us any personal information. Creating an account is optional and is only for parents who want cloud backup. There are no ads, no advertising identifiers, no third-party trackers, and no analytics SDKs.
1. Operator / Contact
- App name: Little Hands Math (package
com.littlehands.math) - Operator: L CUBE YOO
- Contact: info@lcubeyoo.com
2. What We Collect
By default the app runs anonymously. When first opened, it creates an anonymous session that lets the app save progress without any email address or personal identifier.
A parent may optionally upgrade this anonymous session to an account by entering an email address. Accounts exist for a single purpose: backing up and restoring a child's learning progress in the cloud so it survives a reinstall or a move to a new device. Verification is done with a one-time code (OTP) sent to that email, or by signing in with Google; we do not use passwords.
When (and only when) an account is created, the following is stored on our backend, which is hosted with Supabase on servers in the Seoul region:
- Email address — to identify the account for cloud backup, sign-in on a new device, and account deletion requests.
- Learning progress (skill mastery, stars earned, streaks, season records) — to back up and restore the child's game progress across devices.
- An auto-generated nickname — used as a display name on optional leaderboards. It is generated by the app (for example, an adjective plus an animal); there is no free-text name entry anywhere in the app.
- A country code (opt-in) — a coarse, country-level code derived from the device's language/region setting, used only to show a flag next to a leaderboard entry. It is never a state, region, city, or precise location.
We do not collect advertising identifiers, we do not run any advertising, and we do not use any third-party analytics or tracking. Each account's backup and leaderboard rows are private to that account and are protected by row-level security; the only publicly visible data is described under Leaderboards below.
3. What Stays on the Device
Several things the app uses never leave the device and are never sent to our servers, even when an account exists:
- The child's name. If a parent enters a child's name to personalize the app, it is stored only on the device. It is deliberately excluded from cloud backup.
- Handwriting. When a child writes an answer, the strokes are recognized on the device using Google's ML Kit digit recognition. Handwriting is processed on-device and is not transmitted to us or to any third party.
- Sound and app settings. Local preferences stay on the device.
This local information is not part of any account and is not affected by account deletion (see Data Deletion below).
4. Leaderboards
Leaderboards are entirely optional and are off unless a parent explicitly opts in. When opted in, an entry shows only three things to other players:
- the auto-generated nickname,
- the number of stars earned, and
- the opt-in country flag (a country-level code, if provided).
No email address, no child's name, and no other personal information is ever shown on a leaderboard. Underlying score and profile records are private to each account; the public leaderboard is a ranked list assembled by a restricted server function that returns nickname, stars, and country only. Opting out stops sharing to the leaderboard.
5. Payments
The app offers an optional subscription (Pro). Payments are handled entirely by Google Play billing (through RevenueCat). The app never sees or stores your payment card details. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.
In-app stars are a virtual reward earned only by solving math problems; they cannot be bought with money. All outward actions — purchases, the store, and account settings — sit behind a parental gate (a short arithmetic question) so that a young child cannot reach them alone.
6. Data Deletion
You are in control of the account data at all times:
- In the app: use “Delete account” in the account settings. This immediately and permanently deletes all of that account's data from our servers — the email identity, learning-progress backup, nickname, country, and leaderboard scores all cascade and are removed.
- By email: you can also request deletion by contacting info@lcubeyoo.com.
Deleting the account removes cloud data only. The child's progress stored locally on the device is kept, so the app continues to work anonymously afterward. To remove local data as well, uninstall the app or clear its storage on the device.
7. Children's Privacy
Little Hands Math is designed for children, and we take that responsibility seriously. Consistent with the goals of COPPA (United States) and GDPR-K (European Union):
- We do not use a child's personal information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any form of tracking.
- The app shows no third-party advertising and integrates no advertising or analytics SDKs.
- There is no free-text entry that could reveal a child's identity to others; leaderboard names are auto-generated by the app.
- Account creation and every outward action are placed behind a parental gate, so a parent — not the child — makes the choice to create an account or subscribe.
If you believe a child has provided us personal information without a parent's involvement, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. We Do Not Sell Your Data
Little Hands Math does not sell personal information to third parties.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make a material change, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note the change in the app. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
